A question about migraines PLEASE HELP?
When I was diagnosed with migraines, my doctor did a scan to check for abnormalities in my brain. You could do that. To prevent migraines, you could either take a preventative, or try to eliminate some of the causes of migraines. I took Topamax for a short time to prevent migraines, but for me, it made my migraines SOOO SEVERE. I have found that too much caffeine, caffeine withdrawal, too little sleep, too much sleep and atmospheric pressure changes (like when a cold front or storm moves in) really affect my headaches. As soon as you feel a migraine coming, go lay down in a cool, dark, quiet room. Put a cool wash cloth on your head and breathe slowly and deeply. I have found that this helps. I've also heard that if you swig a coke, it helps to dilate the blood vessels.
