Too much pain!!! Need help!!?
Seasonal birth control pills have a much higher risk for spotting and bleeding when you're not on your period. The pains could be severe menstrual cramps or could be caused by an STD but I would imagine they would test you for those if you were in the hospital. Cramps can be excruciating, trust me. Before I got on the pill, the pain would be so debilitating that I couldn't move. However, if you've never had cramps before, it would be a little strange that you would get them so severely now. When I tried the seasonal pill (3 times a year) I bled for 3 weeks and eventually it stopped and I switched. The seasonal pill is not full proof and has a better chance of being effective if you're passed your adolescent years. Take some advil or tylenol (preferably tylenol since you're bleeding heavily just to be safe) and use a heating pad to help with the pain. If this lasts longer than a regular period for you, definitely see your doctor or go to the Emergency Room. You know your body best so if you feel that this is something more serious or life threatening, always trust your instinct and go to the ER. It's better to be safe than sorry. Hope you feel better soon!
